Ann Wicken

Ann Wicken is a yoga teacher based in Nelson, where she runs a small, welcoming yoga studio dedicated to creating spaces where people feel supported, comfortable, and truly at ease. Her teaching is rooted in the tradition of Hatha Yoga, a holistic and spiritual practice that encourages greater awareness, balance, and connection. For Ann, yoga is far more than physical exercise—it is a pathway to coming home to ourselves.

Her classes blend mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, and yogic philosophy with practical, down-to-earth guidance. Through accessible and nourishing practices, she supports students in developing strength, confidence, and self-awareness while honouring their individual needs and experiences.

Known for her warmth, humour, and authenticity, Ann encourages students to meet themselves exactly as they are. She creates a supportive environment where curiosity, compassion, and kindness become powerful tools for personal growth and wellbeing.

In today’s fast-paced world, Ann’s intention is to help people cultivate steadiness, resilience, and a deeper sense of connection—both on and off the mat. Each class offers an opportunity to feel grounded, strong, and at home in the body while gently exploring the inner landscape with greater awareness and ease.

As a qualified menopause practitioner, Ann also specialises in supporting women through midlife transitions. Through evidence-informed yoga practices, she helps students build strength, stability, and self-trust, empowering them to navigate change with confidence and grace.
