Ann Wicken

Ann is a passionate and experienced yoga teacher with a deep understanding of women’s midlife and menopause wellness. With a decade of teaching yoga under her belt, Ann has honed her skills and developed a unique approach to helping women navigate this transformative phase of life.

Ann’s journey as a yoga teacher began with her completion of the 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Power Living Yoga Australasia. This comprehensive training equipped her with a solid foundation in yoga philosophy, asana practice, and teaching methodology.

In addition to her yoga teaching, Ann has also built a successful online yoga and fitness business over the past four years. Through her online platform, she has been able to reach and support women from all walks of life, empowering them to prioritize their health and well-being.

Recognizing the specific needs and challenges that women face during menopause, Ann pursued further education and became a certified menopause health practitioner through My Menopause Transformation. This certification has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes that occur during menopause, as well as effective behavioural lifestyle strategies for managing symptoms and promoting overall wellness and healthy ageing.

With her extensive knowledge and experience, Ann is eager to share her expertise with the attendees of the Hawkes Bay Yoga Festival. Her Women’s midlife yoga and menopause wellness workshop aims to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to explore their bodies, minds, and emotions during this transformative phase. Through a combination of gentle yoga practices, breathwork, meditation, and informative discussion, Ann will guide participants towards greater understanding, acceptance, and empowerment.

Ann’s warm and compassionate teaching style, combined with her wealth of knowledge, makes her the ideal candidate to lead this workshop. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where women can come together, connect, and embark on a transformative journey towards embracing their midlife and menopause with grace and vitality.

“Ann views Yoga, the wise old sage of self-discovery, as blend of a loving grandmother and a no-nonsense coach called Matt. It gently nudges us to embrace our challenges and imperfections with kindness and care, like a warm hug from grandma. But don’t be fooled – just like Matt, it’s also not afraid to dish out a reality check or a metaphorical slap when we need it most. So, roll out your mat and get ready for a journey of self-acceptance with a touch of tough love from our yogic grandma,” Matt.
