Celestina Mauch

Hi, my name is Celestina, and I am a woman in my 50s. I am originally from Germany and Italy but have lived in Napier for over two decades. Initially, my busy life as a businesswoman and mother prevented me from prioritising self-care and personal time. As a result, I experienced the feelings of stress, tension, and back pain. To help heal myself I have been practicing yoga for over 13 years, exploring various styles. I have received traditional yoga training in India and have taught yoga for six years.

Motivated by my own experiences, I delved into extensive research on self-healing techniques. My passion for assisting others in their healing journeys became my life’s purpose. I firmly believe that the foundation of wellbeing lies within one’s mind. Along with becoming a yoga teacher, I have also trained as a Reiki master, Theta Healer, and have explored practices such as meditation/ breathwork, martial arts (achieving a second dan in karate and BJJ), and astrology. To me, these diverse disciplines are interconnected and vital for holistic healing.

In my six years of teaching yoga, I have developed a unique style that focuses on assisting individuals without pushing their bodies into challenging or uncomfortable positions. One of my influential teachers emphasised that while having a flexible body is beneficial, cultivating a flexible mind is even more important. As a result, all my classes conclude with Yoga Nidra and Reiki energy practices, designed to promote relaxation and harmony within both the mind and body.
