Matthew West approaches yoga as a mind–body art. He believes a consistent yoga practice can strengthen the connection with the body, support healing from pain, soothe anxiety, and holistically revitalize mental clarity.
Matthew brings a rich and diverse training background to his teaching. He has completed a Yoga Alliance 200-hour Teacher Training at Shiva Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh, a Yoga Federation 200-hour Teaching Training at Magic Pond Yoga in Seoul, and a Yoga Alliance 300-hour Teacher Training at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa. His experience also includes Iyengar yoga classes with Wayne Everson in Dunedin, Ashtanga yoga training at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, Bikram Hot Yoga practice in Seoul, and ongoing Vinyasa yoga practice.
