Freda Wells

Freda Wells is a yoga teacher, retreat host, somatic therapy practitioner, facilitator and founder of social enterprise Goodlife Collective – with over twenty-five years of practice and a deep love for the philosophy and psychology of yoga as much as the asana.

She found yoga in a 400-year-old Belgian church – an accidental discovery that planted the seed for so much since.

Grounded in studies spanning Psychology and Environmental Science, and trained through a 200hr YTT with Nico Luce (2019) with a 300hr beginning in 2026, Freda brings heart, humour and curiosity to her teaching. She sees the practice as a radical act of belonging – to the body, to the earth, to something larger than ourselves.

Based in Wellington, Aotearoa, she has taught and facilitated workshops, retreats, and events across New Zealand and internationally – supporting students in reconnecting with their self-love, agency, intuition, and dharma.

She knows the practice happens off the mat too, when life gets beautifully messy. That’s where the real work is.
