Mira Aaltonen is a Finnish yogi, artist, environmental anthropologist, and researcher. Her journey with movement began at an early age through ballet and contemporary dance, creating a lifelong fascination with the relationship between body, expression, discipline, and awareness.
Alongside her dance background, Mira explored yoga for over a decade before completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India, where she deepened her understanding of traditional yoga philosophy, pranayama, and embodied practice. Drawing from both traditional yoga and her background in movement, she later created her own style, Dynamic Serpentine Yoga—a practice inspired by the body’s natural spiral patterns and the flowing movement found throughout nature.
Drawing from yoga, artistic expression, and her studies of human relationships with nature, Mira approaches teaching as a path of self-discovery through disciplined practice. By developing awareness of the body, breath, and mind, students are invited to cultivate a deeper connection with themselves and, through that connection, with the natural world around them. Her classes combine strength, fluidity, curiosity, and mindful presence, creating space for students to explore movement in an intuitive and authentic way.
